To Be Great.....You Have To Struggle...

If you turn the pages of History,  you would find a pattern where most of the great souls of the world had to undergo a lot of struggle in their life along with hard work and determination.    To name a few

  • Mahatma Gandhi
  • Mother Teresa
  • Gautama Buddha
  • Dhirubai Ambani
  • Bhagawan Ramana Maharishi
  • Ramakrishna Paramahamsa
  • Martin Luther King
  • Abraham Lincoln
  • Swami Vivekananda
  • Steve Jobs
  • AR Rehman
If we want to be great and be one among the above list, it is necessary to study their biography especially the way they achieved their wisdom and glory and do what we could the very best!

Please ! Intha Puthagatha Vaangathiinga ! - Gopinath

My friends talked very high about this book.   The name of the book is "Please Do Not Buy This Book!".    I bought it for Rupees 60/- in a local shop in Hosur today.   The front cover of the book said "1 lakh copies sold, moving towards 2 lakh copies".  Not sure that is a sales pitch.   But I got truly attracted by its title.   Unless the author is creative, he would not have chosen this title.

Even more interestingly the author starts the preface like this....
"I have not told anything new in this book.....!"   makes it even more compelling to read.

So, I started reading this book.....

Corruption is the worst crime!

Do you know that giving or accepting bribe is a crime?  I don't think we all know that and realize that.    Bribing is the highest form of corruption and is worse than any other crime.  Stealing affects a person, murder affects a family, but, corruption affects the whole country.   Hence, the common man feels that corruption must be taken seriously and highest punishment must be given to anyone who is caught red-handed involved in corruption in any form.    The Jan Lokpal bill must strengthen the judiciary system with regards to corruption and I feel that the prime minister and the CBI must be brought under this bill to pave way for a stable society.

If we do this right this time, we are not creating a noble path for our country and for the whole world.  Other countries can also learn from the challenges we are facing and implement laws that suits best to them.

While saints and scholars in this country are mute spectators of this corruption anomaly,  Anna Hazare is leading the way towards an anti-corruption society as a single soul.

A man by name M.K Gandhi got us independence several years back freeing us from the clutches of the British Empire,  today a man by name Anna Hazare is fighting to get us our second independence freeing us from the clutches of Corruption.   He needs strong support from the us to make this happen.   So, let us all support Anna.

Dr. Ranganath delivering his inaugural address
Mr. Prashanth Wadnere IAS. delivering his inaugral address
I had the privilege of spending some good time with Prashanth Wadnere, IAS and Dr. Ranganath.   We shared our thoughts about Hosur, Chess, education, culture, social service etc.   Dr. Ranganath was kind enough to offer some tea and snacks in his office which I had along with Prashanth.   This is my first experience with two eminent personalities which made my heart fill with joy.   Thanks to Mr. Jayapala Chandady for giving me an opportunity.

Dr. Ranganath was kind enough to take us around the newly constructed library at Adhiyamaan College.   The modern building with a huge collection of  more than one lakh books and digital library can be accessed by students from their home.   They can pick and choose any book that they want and reserve them from home.   That is awesome!   Thanks to Dr. Ranganath's efforts to make this library a dream come true for the students and staff of Adhiyamaan College.

More than Chess, the children befriended with each other and had lot of fun.   We worked like a family to make this tournament a grand success.

I had the previlige of meeting more eminent personalities the next day.   I will be blogging more on this later.

BLACK MONEY IN SWISS BANKS MAINLY FROM INDIA ?

Now, I am not sure how authentic this information is since the above page is pointing to a different blog URL.   However, going by the names, their prominence, the recent news on corruption including 2G Spectrum etc, it makes me feel that this should be authentic.

All this is being done for money (a printed material which can be transacted for benefit).

Most of the SWISS BANK depositors are INDIANS....

Wikileaks have published a list of prominent Indians (most of them are politicians and other bureaucrats) who have deposited large sums of black money (in several thousand crores) in SWISS BANK.   Indian money (our money....taxpayers money) is in SWISS BANK more than any other nationality.    My understanding is that the source income is from illegal share in stock market, drug deal, fake projects.  I am also given to understand that a major share of this black money is routed from Pakistan.

The Indian Government needs to be more aggressive in bringing back this money to India and use it for public benefits - mainly in the areas of poverty eradication, food, education and healthcare.    I am not sure if the current UPA government is capable or has the zeal to do so.  This is primarily because, some of the prominent players (now and before) have contributed to SWISS BANK.

What we need now is a change in the Center.    I would like our former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to make a recommendation as to who would be the best fit to form the new Govt. with a single motto of bringing the money back to India.

Jai Hind!
